Welcome to My World. . . At Least the Edge Of IT
January 20, 2011 - First post!
Welcome! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are here on purpose, but even if you arrived due to some less intentional click of fate, I'm happy you are here just the same. For the moment, we are here together. On the edge of my commitment to a year of documenting thoughts and observations about the "edges" that I see and experience.
It's not the first time that I've considered making this type of writing commitment, but it is the first time I've had such clarity for the purpose. I'm not quite sure what caused it or where it came from, but I'm confident that I'm on the right path.
The overall theme is prominently displayed in the heading of each page. I call it "Seeing The Edge." My focus, will be on identifying and sharing advantages that are often right before us, yet go unseen by many. I'll look for opportunities to discuss the competitive and winning edges in a variety of situations and venues. Whether it's business, athletics, community, or family will depend on what I'm exposed to and what I see.
You'll notice that I have identified themes across the top of the page that I will concentrate on during the year. In one of those themes I will focus on my year as President of the WOMMA Board of Directors. Contrast that with another page in which I'll spend time sharing insights and edges from my personal life. Not only is there a section in which I'll describe edges of my own, but I've also provided a place for you to share your edge as well. And I hope you will.
Thanks to the people who have encouraged me, helped me, and enlightened me in many ways. And thanks to each of you for reading this far and beginning the journey with me. I hope you'll find my discoveries and thoughts both interesting and worthwhile enough to stop back frequently. If you do, please invite a friend to join us.
By the way, there's a true story that inspired the title of this blog and the way I look at life. If you'ld like to read it, here's where you can find it.
